About Us

Although Serene Stitches was founded in 2015, I began sewing as a little girl in my Grandmother's lap.  Throughout my childhood, I would sneak projects on my Mom's machine because I couldn't get enough of the creation process.   What inspires me is a passion to keep learning and creating with fabric and thread. I specialize in edge-to-edge quilting, T-shirt quilts and custom sewing creations of all types.   I also do limited embroidery and serging.

I long arm on a Handi-quilter "Infinity" model sewing machine, which boasts an industry leading 26" throat space to accommodate large sewing patterns.  My quilting frame is a huge 12 foot and can accommodate from the smallest to most king size quilts.   I do my sewing and embroidery on a Bernina B590 domestic and have taken classes as recently as September 2021 to refresh my skills.   I serge on a Bernette b64 airlock model.  I use Hobbs 80% cotton/20% poly batting for customer quilts (*upon request). 

My long arm is computerized with the ability to sew an unlimited number of pattern options for edge-to-edge designs.  I can quilt simple meander patterns to themed designs to custom-made patterns.  I also quilt custom placed designs using rulers and free-hand stitching.  You can drop off or call me to pick up your project (*within reason).  Quick turn-around time.  I also collaborate with customers on T-shirt quilts, special-order sewn items, embroidery and clothing alterations.
